All my puters are named after women from various anime I've watched over the years. Dunno why, just seemed like a good idea, seeing as all puters are female. You can tell it was a bloke who thought that idea up, can't you. :P Anyway, here's some info on my puters, updated whenever I can be bothered. :)
(By the way, this isn't a full list of my puters, this is just the ones in semi-regular use. It doesn't include, for example, my Mac SE that I own for the purpose of sticking it in a corner and laughing at it when I need cheering up.)

Info: Ginrei is my current main PC. She was built from parts that came from Ryoko, mixed with bits that were hurredly bought in an attempt to have a decent machine in time for i10, but due to a number of factors, the parts didn't arrive until I was already there. Which was annoying. So I ended up taking Kiyone instead, with all Ryoko's RAM and the 80GB disk in, Ryoko, being a K6-2, with all the slow floating-point that entails, not really having much luck with games. Finally I've managed to get more RAM for Ginrei, which has sped her up no end, cos with the amount of crap I have loaded on startup, 128MB ain't enough. 182MB or so is used before I even run any other programs. Oh well, one of these days I'll have to cut down the stuff a little. Today I decided it would be a good plan to overclock my puter. So now it's running 200-odd MHz faster than before. And it seems stable, it just runs 4 or 5 deg C warmer. I can live with that. Gfx OC next then, I think...

Info: Weeeeeeee! I got a workin' lappy! And so web site development shifts up a gear. Well, it's a nice dream, anyway :P So. As you will know if you've read the post on the front page, Leona has only just started working properly again, courtesy of a large amount of b33r. And people say alchohol is bad... :P There's many things I'd like to do to Leona, but the two main ones would be more RAM, which I can't do cos she won't take the 64MB SIMM I've got in a drawer somewhere, she just reverts to using the 16MB on the mobo, and the CPU, which I can't change cos it's soldered on. This is a lappy designed specifically for lack of update options. Also, you don't want to put her on your lap, cos after running for 20 minutes, you can fry an egg on her underside. I've tried it. It works quite well, but it's a bit messy to clean up afterwards. But you know what the best bit about Leona is? I can't find any information about her anywhere. The company that technically made it, well, they didn't. Seems that for a couple of models, they outsourced to another company, and there's very little info about either of 'em. And Leona is one of them. Time for some well-placed e-mails, I think...
 Boxen: Washu  Anime: Tenchi Muyo/Universe
OS: Gentoo Linux
Info: Ok, so I don't actually have Washu yet, but when Rich gets his arse in gear and brings her over so I can install her, she'll be my web server.
Boxen: Belldandy  Anime: Ah! My Goddess
Specs:
  • Probably an ARM7, but I can't remember off hand.
  • 2MB RAM
  • 40MB Hard disk
  • 14" Acorn Monitor with inbuilt speakers @ 800x600
  • Acorn keyboard with mouse socket and reset button on rear
  • Logitech 3 button Acorn mouse
OS: RiscOS 3
Info:Belldandy is my Acorn A5000, and so, being an Acorn, is automatically the best machine that I own. Or rather, would be, if all her transistors hadn't leaked all over her motherboard. However, I don't think it's anything that an hour or two with a soldering iron wouldn't fix. I hope.
Belldandy is named as such due to a friend of mine telling me I should watch A!MG, leading to me naming a machine after a character in respect of such a cool anime. So now you know. (Ta, MuZ)
